Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a form of therapy that is a positive and client-centered, seeking to help people find solutions to various problems. Using Solution Focused, we would together find a clear definition of the problem and what makes it a problem; then through a series of questions, I would help you find the solution within yourself. With Solution Focused, the problem is the problem; there is nothing wrong with you, you just may be stuck, and need a little help getting unstuck.
Solution Focused, like EMDR, tends to be more brief in nature than other forms of talk therapy. The goal is to define the problem, then find the solution to that problem. Solution Focused is rather straightforward, with of course its own set of interesting and thought-provoking questions. I have used Solution Focused with many clients, for a wide variety of issues, and I have always been amazed with what a difference I see in my clients lives and seeing their new confidence in life.
