COVID-19 Notice
Effective 6-1-2020, my office will re-open for in-office sessions upon request. I will continue to be providing video sessions through a secure, HIPAA-Compliant Telehealth software. All clients have the choice to continue attend session in-office or through video.
Our lives are stories, and just like any good story, they have some good parts, and some not-so-good parts. You may be experiencing one of those not-so-good parts now, or feel that one from the past is affecting you now. You don’t want to be defined by these not-so-good parts, and you don’t have to be; there is hope, there is healing.
Many of these not-so-good times can be defined as traumatic events. Traumatic events are not only defined as abuse, violence, or disasters; traumatic events can also be called “distressing events”. They are an event, or series of events, that have a negative effect on a person’s mental, emotional, or psychological state. In my experience, I have seen how these past traumatic events can have a negative impact on clients in the present. Tracing back to these past traumatic events and processing them so that they no longer get triggered and affect one in the present, enables clients to feel more at peace and to move forward in their lives with confidence.
